What to do in Ibiza: Calendar of events.

The Holy Week:

The Holy Week in Ibiza is very intense. Depending on the year, it will be held in April or May.

The processions can’t have a better setting to take place: In the Historical Centre of Dalt Vila (in the capital of the island), which is a World Heritage Site and in the most central streets of the city of Ibiza.

You will have the opportunity to attend about 30 religious events that take place throughout Easter.

We would recommend the Good Friday procession known as that of the Holy Burial, as it stands out for the large number of brotherhoods involved (usually more than a thousand) and the beautiful route it follows.

Ibiza Half Marathon:

This marathon is the most important sporting event of the year. With approximately 21 kilometres of track, it starts in Sant Josep and finishes in Ibiza city. If you like running, you will love this competition as it passes through the incomparable setting of the area declared a World Heritage Site.

Similarly, parallel to the marathon is another 10 kilometre athletic event called “Island of Ibiza”. The start of this event is from the Polideportivo de Can Guerxo in Sant Jordi.

Find out on their website the exact date of the event as they usually vary between the months of April or May.

Medieval Ibiza:

The old town of Dalt Vila hosts a fascinating medieval market full of nobles, merchants’ stalls, minstrels, snake charmers… You’ll think you’ve gone back in time! ⏱

This market is organised together with other cultural events to commemorate the declaration by UNESCO of 4 natural and cultural elements of the island as a World Heritage Site in 1999.

The streets are decorated for the occasion with flags, fabrics and artefacts to make the medieval characterization more authentic.

Don’t miss the opportunity to stroll through the market, to look at more than 100 artisan stalls and to join the festival by participating in activities such as medieval theatre, archery and Arab dances.

Children will have great fun with children’s theatre, camel rides or falcons exhibition.

Ibiza International Music Summit:

This is one of the most anticipated events of the year. In the Baluarte de Santa Lucía, in Dalt Vila, well-known DJs make hundreds of people dance to the latest music throughout the days.

This international festival is a platform to make known the philosophy and leadership of electronic music. Apart from Ibiza, it is also held in Los Angeles and China.

During 3 days there are seminars and live debates between the leaders of the international music community, as well as interviews, music technology classes and awards ceremonies.

Ibiza Gay Pride:

The city of Ibiza is decorated with the colours of the rainbow flag to celebrate the big festival of the LGTB community.

In addition to the now mythical parade where you can see fabulous carriages running through the streets, the programme includes numerous events that claim the equality of people regardless of their sexual orientation.

Visitors from all over the world travel to the island to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere that is created during the celebrations. Don’t miss Ibiza’s most colourful party! 🌈

Fiestas de la Terra: The Patron Saint Fiestas of the city of Ibiza.

The residents of the city of Ibiza are looking forward to the arrival of their patron saint fiestas. Different performances, sporting activities and shows for all audiences come together for a few days to the delight of locals and visitors.

These include the parade of carriages, the meeting of artisans and craftsmen of Ibiza and the great fireworks display.

Check the list of artists who come for concerts every year because they tend to be very important. This way you will be aware of all the events.

Eivissa Jazz Festival.

The Ibiza Jazz Festival is definitely one of the most important jazz festivals in Spain. Launched in 1989, its programme includes concerts by both local talents and international bands.

Along with Jazz, the festival hosts other musical styles such as soul, swing, blues or jazz fusion.

Jazz lovers can enjoy several days of performances in a truly spectacular setting.

Enjoy the magic of the Ibizan night accompanied by the best music! 🎷
