CEvery traveller experiences and feels Thailand differently. In today’s post, our traveller friend @yakito_cabrera tells us about her impressions and experiences in “the land of the smiles”. She also recommends us beautiful places and depicts her comments with fantastic photos – a great article that inspires us to dream of distant and exotic lands!

This time I will tell you about my trip to Thailand: a very special trip through Southeast Asia where, as soon as you get off the plane, you perceive the change of climate and atmosphere. One of the most incredible experiences of my life because I wanted to discover this country.

I will describe Thailand with a short summary of words: strong emotions, tranquility, relaxation, beaches, exoticism, security… (watch out for monkeys). I would recommend that you go and see its great temples and its islands as incredible as James Bond Island.

In general, the whole country offers a great variety of experiences and I would recommend it to 100 × 100.

Get lost in the streets of Bangkok and get to know its gastronomic culture (dishes are sold on the same street). But if you’re a little scrupulous, I wouldn’t recommend it. Get into their markets and big shopping malls. They offer a wide variety of clothing, souvenirs and gifts. I also had the opportunity to visit the Bangkok Floating Market: a fantastic experience.

Visit everything the city has to offer at night and during the day.

rom MuayThai fights to the famous Pin Pon Show. You will be able to enjoy all type of spectacles in the special nights of the city. I would recommend visiting the famous Sirocco restaurant at the Lebua Hotel: the one in the Resacón movie in Thailand.

Don’t forget to take a tuc tuc and of course, negotiate its price.

One activity that really impressed me was going to see the Great Golden Buddha. It’s astonishing how big it is, almost 100 m high. And of course, visit the ruins of Ayutthaya, a living testament to Thailand’s historical heritage where you can remember those sacred times.

A very emblematic place but somewhat subjected to tourist pressure is the giraffe women’s village. Their way of living and day-to-day life without losing their traditional customs is impressive. This village is made up of former refugees from Burma (Myanmar).

Another point of interest today for tourists visiting Thailand is the Golden Triangle: A place where the Mekong River borders Laos, Myanmar and Thailand and is known worldwide for the opium trafficking that happened in the area years ago.

Then I moved to Phuket, in the southern part of Thailand.

There I enjoyed the magnificent beaches and good weather. I made several reservations for excursions which took me to Koh Phi Phi Island and the famous James Bond Island (one of the most photographically epic islands). A large natural stone obelisk in the middle of the sea with a small beach. It is also a very frequented island at sunset. The two islands are quite a spectacle.

It was incredible to visit the Phi Phi Island and its beaches, where many movies have also been shot. One of them is very well known, Maya Bay, where the film ” The Beach ” was filmed, whose main actor is Leonardo DiCaprio. It is also a very busy area so bear this in mind.

In short, Thailand is a very exotic country. Its food, its culture… everything in general is very attractive. If you like to enjoy great adventures and unique experiences, I would recommend this country. During my experience there I felt very safe and welcome in their hotels.
